An expanding Aberdeen business, specialising in industrial cleaning and waste disposal, has invested £400,000 in new equipment over the last four months.
MS Industrial Services Limited (MSIS) - which also operates from Invergordon – has purchased four new items of equipment in response to growing customer demand throughout the UK.
A major investment for the firm was the purchase of two vacuum transfer systems (VTS), partly funded by Highlands and Islands Enterprise. When used in tank cleaning operations, a VTS acts like a massive hoover to remove sludge, solids and liquids from depths of up to 50m.
In addition, the company has purchased a 4000-gallon tanker and a vactor tanker, both of which will be used throughout the UK. The vactor tanker has a combined vacuum tank and jetting operation, making it more efficient, while the tanker has already been involved in the clean up of major oil spills.
David Skinner, MSIS managing director said: “Since MSIS was established back in 1998, business has grown steadily, with the range of products and services we offer expanding all the time. The purchase of the new equipment will ensure we continue to offer a competitive and varied service for both new and existing clients.”
He added: “The addition of the vactor tanker is an exciting purchase for us as there are few available in Scotland. Many people assume they have to go to the central belt to find a tanker when in fact we have the capabilities in Invergordon and Aberdeen.
“If the last four months are any indication of progress, I am confident business will continue to flourish.”
Working in a variety of sectors, MSIS undertakes oil rig repair and maintenance, waste management, high pressure jetting, CCTV surveys, vacuum tanker hire and vacuum transfer systems. (VTS)
