Representatives from leading Aberdeen-based industrial cleaning and waste disposal company, MS Industrial Services Limited (MSIS), are attending the Offshore Northern Seas Conference and Exhibition on the back of the company forging a strategic alliance with a Norwegian organisation.

MSIS – which also has an office in Invergordon – recently signed an agreement with Hoyanger-based Overflateteknikk AS, a provider of innovative chemical cleaning services which specialises in the removal of scale, hydrocarbons and rust from offshore equipment and systems.

The alliance will provide MSIS with the opportunity to expand its services to the Norwegian market and looks set to further enhance both companies’ reputations as international market leaders in waste removal and treatment.

During their visit to Norway, MSIS’ commercial director, Neil McArthur, and the company’s business development manager, Louise Green, are attending ONS 2008 and will also visit Overflateteknikk’s onshore rust and scale cleaning factory.

Mr McArthur says the Norwegian market is a key area of focus for the organisation and feels the forging of this alliance is a major development in ensuring the continued growth and success of MSIS.

He said: “We are delighted to have agreed this alliance with Overflateteknikk – through combining the expertise and experience of both companies, clients will be provided with a truly unrivalled total package.

“As a result of this mutually beneficial relationship, we aim to introduce work to Overflateteknikk here in Scotland and, of course, hopefully the agreement will assist MSIS in attracting and securing work in Norway – a key area of business growth for us.

Mr McArthur added: “The Norwegian market is very mature and companies can only enter it through innovative means. Many contractors encounter difficulties breaking into the market, however, our striking relationship with Overflateteknikk will hopefully attract and secure the attention of the big players in Norway – who we can approach with confidence.”

Working in a variety of sectors, MSIS undertakes waste management, high pressure jetting, CCTV surveys, LSA decontamination, vacuum tanker hire, specialist coatings, oil spill response services, environmental management services and premier transfer systems.
