MSIS – which has offices in Aberdeen and Invergordon – was involved in cleaning the tanks of Hess’ floating production storage and offloading vessel, FPSO Sendje Ceiba, which operates off the coast of Equatorial Guinea in West Africa.
In order to allow Hess to identify and carry out maintenance work, MSIS cleaned the cargo oil and slop tanks onboard the FPSO, using the firm’s innovative Premier Vacuum Transfer System (PVTS).
The contract took 17 months to complete after work commenced on the vessel in March 2006, with the project completed in August 2007.
Louise Green, MSIS’ business development manager, believes the successful completion of the Hess, Sendje Ceiba FPSO project heralds an exciting time for the firm.
He said: “We are delighted the project was such a success. International operations are part of MSIS’ strategic plan and the completion of this, our first international contract, highlights just how the company has progressed and demonstrates the ambition of the firm for continued growth and future success.”
Hess’ project manager, Scott Huff, added: “We were pleased with the performance of the equipment provided by MSIS on our FPSO vessel. The services provided by the firm enabled the cleaning campaign to be completed in a much shorter time frame than conventional manual methods and we would have no hesitations in considering MSIS for future projects.”
Working in a variety of sectors, MSIS undertakes waste management, high pressure jetting, CCTV surveys, LSA decontamination, vacuum tanker hire, specialist coatings, oil spill response services, environmental management services and vacuum transfer systems.
