An Aberdeen-based industrial cleaning and waste disposal company has announced record sales figures, with turnover rising a staggering 72% to £4.39 million in the last 12 months.
MS Industrial Services Limited (MSIS) enjoyed an extremely successful year, securing a number of new contracts and extending relationships with existing clients.
The company, which has a base in Invergordon, secured its first overseas contract in Equatorial Guinea last year and has also seen a significant growth in onshore business.
Commercial director, Neil McArthur, is confident that the firm’s success will continue, with projections indicating that sales will exceed £5.5 million by the end of the year.
Mr McArthur said: “In addition to a tremendous increase in turnover, we have completed a number of successful projects as well as enjoying a particularly satisfying 2006 and a strong start to 2007.
“Our business growth has been the direct result of securing contracts with new and existing clients both onshore and offshore. The growing volume of recurring business we have completed reflects the fact that we continue to meet the full expectations of our customers.
“We were awarded new business worth £1.5 million in the 12 month period, which is an extremely encouraging return for our business development effort.”
Mr McArthur added that much of MSIS’ success can be attributed to a significant increase in demand for services related to its premier Vacuum Transfer System (VTS), used for offshore tank cleaning operations. £500,000 was invested in two additional systems and related equipment last year, to enable the company to meet this need.
Mr McArthur says the company will work to consolidate the strong position it has already achieved as well as developing the provision of environmental consultancy services.
Working in a variety of sectors, MSIS undertakes waste management, high pressure jetting, CCTV surveys, LSA decontamination, vacuum tanker hire, specialist coatings, oil spill response services, environmental management services and vacuum transfer systems (VTS). The firm currently has 35 full-time employees, although it regularly uses local agencies to hire suitably qualified staff to meet excessive demand when necessary.
